Month 1: Discovering Your Ideal Customer and Understanding Your Audience

Please make sure you are logged into your Google account to access the documents. If you have any questions about anything, join us in the private discussion group. There are no dumb questions, so ask about anything you need help with. 

  1. Complete the Preliminary Niche Brainstorming Sheet (PDF) to start getting an idea about your market and niche. 
  2. Fill in the Ideal Customer Brainstorming Sheet (PDF). This will help ensure you are targeting the right people with your offer. 
  3. Gain a deeper insight about your ideal customer with the Understanding Your Market Checklist (PDF).
  4. Get ready to create your lead magnet with this Lead Magnet Brainstorming Sheet (PDF). Use this Lead Magnet and Landing Page Examples (PDF) to help generate some winning ideas. When you create your lead magnet, you may want to use the free report template (.dot)
  5. To help you with your overall vision of what you will complete during this training, get this Basic Funnel Explained guide (PDF).

Request Your Landing Page Creation

Here are the steps to complete and how to get us to create your landing page for you.  

Step 1: Your lead magnet should be ready and in final draft form. If you have a website already, upload lead magent file there. If you don’t have a website or don’t know how to upload files, you can submit your lead magnet with your landing page request and Melody will help you. 

Step 2: Your mailing list should be set up, so you can start collecting opt-ins from the landing page we create. If you don’t have an autoresponder already, we recommend Aweber - you can start with a $1 trial. Set up the list and write a thank you email that your subscribers will get as soon as they claim your lead magnet.

Step 3: Request your landing page creation. After you’ve completed step 1 and 2, you’re ready for us to get to work. Please email our assistant Melody Spier at melody@writerhelpwanted.com with the following information as it applies. 

>> If You Have a Website with WordPress Already

Please send the following:

  • Admin access to WordPress, so the InstaBuilder plugin can be installed and work can be done on the landing page
  • Name and description of your lead magnet. Attach it to the email or provide a link to download it.
  • Basic headline, list of benefits / features of your lead magnet and what you’ll provide your subscriber.
  • The “raw HTML” form code for the mailing list you set up, so we can set up the opt-in form…if you need help with this, just let Melody know.

>> If You Have a Website Already, but Don’t Have WordPress Installed

Please send the following:

  • Cpanel access to your site, so we can install WordPress. 
  • Name and description of your lead magnet. Attach it to the email or provide a link to download it.
  • List of benefits / features of your lead magnet and what you’ll provide your subscriber. Please provide as much detail as possible.
  • The “raw HTML” form code for the mailing list you set up, so we can set up the opt-in form…if you need help with this, just let Melody know.

>> If You Don’t Have a Website Yet

Please send the following:

  • If you don’t have a domain name, you can purchase one at NameCheap or if you want us to purchase it for you, let Melody know. You will need to update your nameservers and Melody can either complete that process for you or walk you through it.
  • Name and description of your lead magnet. Attach it to the email.
  • List of benefits / features of your lead magnet and what you’ll provide your subscriber. Please provide as much detail as possible.
  • The “raw HTML” form code for the mailing list you set up, so we can set up the opt-in form…if you need help with this, just let Melody know.
